FBO Props: a community aviation app that turns real ramp visits into trusted airport insight

Resourcifi built FBO Props, a native iOS and Android app that gives general aviation pilots reliable, experience based insight into FBOs and airports, with community reviews, detailed profiles, fuel prices, and a map built for the way pilots plan a trip.

The challenge

What FBO Props needed to solve.

General aviation pilots plan trips on thin information. Basic listings show a name, a runway, and a fuel price, but not how a ramp actually runs, whether the crew is helpful, or how long a turn really takes. FBO Props wanted a place where pilots share firsthand operational experience so the next arrival knows what to expect before wheels down.

Goals
  • Capture firsthand pilot reviews of real ramp experiences
  • Build detailed FBO and airport profiles beyond basic listings
  • Surface fuel prices, services, and hours at a glance
  • Make airports easy to find on a map and by location
  • Hold one consistent experience across iOS and Android
The solution

Resourcifi designed and built FBO Props as native iOS and Android apps on a cloud backend. The app opens on an explore screen and a map of nearby airports with airplane pin markers, each leading to a detailed FBO profile with fuel prices, services, hours, and community reviews. Pilots share updates in a few taps, and a moderation layer keeps the insight trustworthy as coverage scales nationwide.

What we built

The FBO Props build, screen by screen.

01 · Find and search

Find the right airport in seconds

The explore screen opens on the FBO Props brand, a where to search, and nearby airports as photo cards, so a pilot starts from their current or destination location.

  • Location aware nearby airports
  • Where to search across airports
  • Airport photo cards with ratings
  • Share an update in one tap

02 · Map view

Every nearby airport on the map

A clean map shows nearby airports as blue airplane pin markers, with a location search pill and filter, and a bottom card that previews the selected airport.

  • Airplane pin markers per airport
  • Location search and filter
  • Tap a pin for a quick preview
  • Snap back to current location

03 · FBO detail

Fuel, services, and hours in one view

Each FBO profile pulls fuel prices, services and amenities, ratings, and hours into a single detailed view built for a pilot planning a stop.

  • Live fuel prices by grade
  • Services and amenities chips
  • Ratings from real visits
  • Hours and unicom frequency

04 · Community reviews

Insight from pilots who were there

Reviews roll up into a clear rating breakdown, then list firsthand accounts with avatars, stars, and tags, so the next pilot knows what to expect.

  • Rating breakdown by star
  • Firsthand pilot reviews
  • Tags for fuel and services
  • Sort by recent or top rated

05 · Share an update

Post what you saw on the ground

Sharing an update takes a rating, a few category tags, optional notes and photos, then a blue button posts it for the whole community.

  • Star rating selector
  • Category tags to highlight
  • Notes and optional photos
  • One tap to post

06 · Pilot account

Saved airports and your reviews

The pilot account holds the member identity, saved airports, aircraft profile, and review history, with alerts for fuel and notams at the home base.

  • Saved airports and reviews
  • Aircraft and tail number
  • Home base fuel alerts
  • Privacy and notifications
